New Testament: Philemon
Interesting post. Obviously, there are host of old thorny issues involved in dating Galatians — most of which twist around what one does with Acts specifically for questions of provenance and the Jerusalem council. I’ll not retread any of that ground here. Mainly because the issue of dating the letter to the Galatians a precise point on the timeline can not be precisely correlated with the Galatian crisis a range of time and the point at which Paul “writes off” the Galatians with respect to the collection a sort of end point — however it is questionable whether it should be considered ultimate in the relationship of Paul and the churches there.

Although Paul does not mention this mission, the argument is that Paul passes quickly over the lengthy fourteen-year period without exhaustive detail, which allows for the possibility that it could have occurred during that time.

He created woman from man so the two could live in a loving partnership forever. In our society, dating has become something of an obsession. It is expected to be a universal phenomenon. It is considered the natural precursor to marriage, and is generally considered something to be desired, whatever form it might take. This topic is no exception. If so, what is it? How can Christians think differently about this pervasive issue in media and culture? How are we doing so far? Indeed, the central issue we need to confront — and the reason I write and speak on this topic — is that when it comes to dating and relationships, perhaps more than in any other area of the everyday Christian life, the church is largely indistinguishable from the world.
That truth has brought immeasurable emotional pain and other consequences to many Christians. Worse, it has brought great dishonour to the name of Christ and to the witness of individuals and the church. We have brothers and sisters in Christ to hold us accountable and to help us apply the Word to our lives. That always has marriage or at least a determination regarding marriage to a specific person as its direct goal.

In Acts , while on his second missionary journey, the Apostle Paul and his companions established the church in Thessalonica. After only a brief time in the city, dangerous opposition arose from those who thought Paul’s message was a threat to Judaism. Since Paul had to leave these new converts sooner than he wanted to, he sent Timothy back to Thessalonica at his earliest opportunity to check on the church.

The objection to how the King James Version renders 1 Thessalonians is valid. Such is not the case. What Paul is trying to communicate is that we need to avoid every kind of evil.
The point of 1 Thessalonians is this: Christians need to stay as far away from evil as possible. Christians should always be aware of how their actions are perceived by others. Once upon a time, I freaked out about dating. I was that Christian single girl who jumped on the bandwagon of kissing dating goodbye- except of course for dating Jesus. I bought into the lie that instead of actually DEALING with my fear of failure, or my fear of making mistakes, I could just sit back and do nothing, and pray that God would magically bring me a spouse.
Interacting with the opposite sex became this pressure-filled, awkward, sinful-feeling give and take that left me feeling confused, impatient, and totally lacking control. In walks Mr. He initiates, and I respond. So excited to finally meet a man who pursued me I jumped at the chance to enter into a relationship with him. But the longer the relationship progressed, the more I began to feel that this relationship was not the right fit for my life.
Afraid of failure and of playing the dreaded dating game, I decided to stay in a relationship for far longer than I should have. A relationship that caused heartache, heartbreak, and a whole lot of wasted time. Though I wish I could change my relationship history, my choices make sense in the context of my former belief system.
